Message from Academic Director

Hello, Mustangs! October is here and we have a lot on our plate. First of all, we celebrate Anti-Bullying Month at TAS; we will all wear blue shirts on Monday, October 3, to stand in solidarity with schools around the world in recognition of Anti-Bullying Month. Our first October Assembly will be dedicated to this issue.

The last day of quarter 1 is Thursday, October 6th, 2016. Grades will be updated in PowerSchool by Wednesday, October 19, 2017. Please log on to see the quarterly academic results. Report Cards will be sent home on Tuesday, October 25th. Parent-Teacher Conferences take place on Friday, October 28th from 8am – 4pm. Parents of ES students are required to make an appoint with Ms. Nhan in the ES Academic Office. Parents of MSHS students can drop in to see any teachers they choose, but are encouraged to make arrangements with Ms. Lan in the MSHS Academic Office.

There is no school for students on Friday, October 7th to allow for a faculty in-service day. Teachers will spend the day in workshops dedicated to supporting English language learners in the mainstream classroom as well as time devoted to working in accreditation focus groups.
Fall break will take place from October 7th – October 16th, with classes resuming on Monday, October 17th for the beginning of quarter 2.

Upcoming events:

  • The ISN Expo College Tour will take place in the MSHS Cafeteria at 1pm on Friday, October 21—interested parents are welcome to attend;
  • Keeping in line with our Altruistic ESLRS, TAS continues its commitment to save the Rhino from the devastating effects of poaching with a presentation with the good people from the Wilderness Foundation – Rhino Campaign on Monday, November 2;
