TAS Announces 2018 AP Scholars
The American School is proud to announce a successful Advanced Placement Program during the 2017-2018 academic year. The College Board’s AP Program has awarded two TAS graduates with the designation of “AP Scholar” and another graduate with the distinction of “AP Scholar with Honors.”
The AP Scholar Award was presented to Flora Ho and Kelly Kang from the Class of 2018. This award is reserved for students who score a 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
Flora Ho successfully scored 3 or higher on AP exams in Environmental Science, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Psychology. Flora Ho will matriculate at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri where she will be enrolled in the pre-Pharmacy Program.
Kelly Kang, our Class of 2018 Valedictorian, earned the distinction of AP Scholar for her scores on exams in AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and AP Environmental Science. Kelly has been accepted to Northeastern University in Boston, where she will join the Class of 2022.
Finally, Terry Phung, Salutatorian for The American School’s Class of 2018, racked up an impressive AP track record and has earned the award of AP Scholar with Honors. This highly-prized distinction is bestowed upon students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Terry will attend Concordia University in Montreal, Canada this fall.
